EP 35: Being an Ally, Microaggressions & Empowerment W/ Angela Yarber

Rev. Dr. Angela Yarber is the award-winning author, artist, and Executive Director of the Holy Women Icons Project, a non-profit seeking to empower marginalized women by telling the stories of revolutionary holy women through art, writing, and special events. With a PhD in Art and Religion and background as a Professor of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, she is author of seven books, with four listed as Top LGBTQ Religion Books. A queer clergywoman, she was a pastor for 14 years before leaving it all to travel full-time with her wife and toddler while discerning how to create her non-profit. She lives on Hawai'i Island with her wife and 2 young children where they run the Holy Women Icons Project's off-grid eco-retreat center. Her work has been featured on NPR's Progressive Spirit, Maya Angelou's memorial celebration, and the television show Tiny House Nation. You can always find her at www.holywomenicons.com/join
